Austin Powers: |
9.5 | EXCELLENT | ||
Let me first say, if you haven't seen this movie
STOP reading this review right now and see it. I may throw in some "spoilers"
that would ruin all the really funny parts if you haven't seen it. Austin Powers 2 can be compared to "The Empire Strikes Back" in that it focuses mostly on Dr. Evil and the evil syndicate instead of mostly on Austin. The plot of the movie revolves around voodoo elements. Dr. Evil has traveled back to
1969 and stolen Austin Power's mojo! Unable to function without it Austin Powers travels
back to 1969 to thwart Dr. Evil's plans and be back in time for tea. Mike Meyers shows his range of talents as Austin Powers, Dr. Evil and Fat Bastard. For FB, Meyers donned a 80 pound weight suit. Heather Grahmn is very good indeed as Felicity Shagwell. The 2 go together like uh like a good mixture of volatile chemicals... The lines of this movie are sure to ctach on everywhere. Fancy a shag? I put the grr in swinger baby etc. are due to be overused forever in bars. What makes this movie absolutely perfect is: - Street talkin' Dr. Evil. "Talk to the hand, the face ain't listenin." "Oh yeah well I'm a bad mofo I popped a cop cause he was in my oak town." "Don't go there girlfriend." Too funny. - The moderness of it like Dr. Evil beating the s*** out of everyone else on the Jerry Springer show with bleeped words forming most of every sentence. He steals the KKK leader's hat, and yells "I've got your hood." Dr. Evil also does good renditions to "Just the Two of Us" (directed at Mini Me) and "If God Where One of Us" by somone. And finally Mini Me. He's the coolest baby around. "I want my baby back, baby back. Chile's Baby Back Ribs." Overall: Awesome baby! Buy it when it comes out, it will never get old baby!!! Score: 9.5 out of 10 |

Scoring: Plot: 3 Laughs: 10 Characters: 10 Other Stuff: 8 Overall: 9.5 How it works: For a comedy plot is not very important at all compared to laughs. TSWSM left characters from the old and original, funny characters woven together in a perfect blend. Other Stuff got a 8 because some things are so blatantly commercialed. Heiniken beer, Virgin Atlantic records, Coca Cola and others are prominently featured in the written and graphical screenplays. |
